This is an event Idea ive tried to organize before, without a lot of luck. Id love to see it working, and I wanna try it again. The idea was to have an Open-rp marketplace, that had only two rules, you have to be present (no afk sellers), and you have to be in character. The plan was originally to have been carried out at the marketplace in Fantasy isle, next to the stage.

I really think this would be very neat to see, if we can get it going. If any of you have suggestions or ideas on the subject, Id love to hear them.

Ooohhh I like this idea! But

Ooohhh I like this idea! But do we have enough people to pull it off? Perhaps we could have an announcer. A character below level 41 that could port to all the towns and announce it? We could do it once a week, like the Well. We could probably even do it during the day before the well, if people are available.

aye thats the key to it

aye thats the key to it working, people being available. We have so few "Official" roleplayers left now its difficult to bring them together at once. The event did work, however only a very few showed. I think if we did organize (and advertise)ourselves well, we could improve that number exponentially, as more folks realize how much fun were having and join in. The RP market would have a high potential to do this, as random folks would be able to purchace there too, and would at least appreciate the live market, if nothing else.

Also, it needs a host. I was unable to attend on the date it was agreed for, and no host was available. I think in events like these, possibly events in general, a host or hostess is needed, at least at first, to direct activities, until a state of normalcy is achieved. In cases like the well, a host or hostess is essential always.

In the case of the RP market, the host could have a special booth. They could perhaps help direct folks who need specific crafts done, or could help mediate a haggle-war hehe. they would also officially begin the festivities, and call them to a close. I think whoever is chosen as a host/hostess should be given control of the event to the extent that they choose how to make it better, and anyone with ideas for the event should go to them. This will let them make the event "their own" as it were, and really gives them a sense of duty and accomplishment to see it survive.

I could set up a "Rune"

I could set up a "Rune" reading booth at the market. Just let me know when, so that I can fit it into my adventuring schedule.

A "Rune" reading booth? =o.O=

A "Rune" reading booth? =o.O= ::Pictures it:: "Your runes say buy the Dwarf a beer! Thank you next!" ::Shakes her head:: ahem, sorry, must be getting tired. =^_^= ::Evil look:: I could set up a Kissing Booth! Bwahaha!. . . and someone could do a dunking booth!

We can advertise here, on the official forums, and have a low level character (still qualifies for free ports) go from town to town announcing it on the day of.

And I was looking around Fantasy Isle the other day. . . if I remember right, they do actually have a market area set up.

hahahaaa that is an awesome idea! Buy BEER lolz
If I remember to come to Wishing Well and Zaphne says it's ok I will do her a reading, so everyone can see the dwarven way in action. I think Rune reading would be more fitting to the religion of the dwarves, as apposed to the weekly church gathering ritual demonstrated by other races.

heheeee and (on phone) friend said:
(Gruick) "Orc's don't gather!
(Isa) "Nope they run out to totems and stand there wailing."
(Gruick) Only the weird ones."

Zaphne brought this up at the

Zaphne brought this up at the Well last night. I will do what I can to promote and get the word out, but depending on the day and time will dictate if I can actually be there.

I think we should try to nail down a date and time so we can work on promoting it. Do we want to give ourselves a month for the planning and promotion? If so, that would put us at June 18th which is a Saturday (or Sunday the 19th) – open for suggestion.

What would the overall duration of the event be? 1, 2, 3 hours? More? Obviously you can participate for however long you want out of the overall duration of the event.

What do we think would be the best timeframe? Mid-afternoon? Early evening?

Let’s get a list of those who would like to participate. It would be nice to say approximately how many vendors we expect in the promotion.

Should invites for vendors be extended to those not in our RP community? I would like to as the more vendors hopefully the better the success.
