As mentioned in the previous blog entry, I stand against SOPA and the related Senate bill, PIPA. L2RPA will be joining several popular websites, including Reddit, Wikipedia, the Cheeseburger network (I can haz...), etc, in the blackout protests.

I have no illusions about the influence of our site in the grand scheme of the internet. We are a niche fansite for a niche group of a niche game, so my suspicion is that no one will really notice.

That said, I am moving ahead with my plan to run a blackout on January 18th. Anyone visiting the site will find a maintenance message stating the site is offline in protest of SOPA and PIPA and a link for how you can help prevent them from becoming law in the United States.

If you do not feel as if these bills affect you, I strongly urge you to read up on the world-wide effects they will have.
